Type 1, Type 2, Gestational and Pre-Diabetes Care

Unfortunately, 67% of people with diabetes don’t even know they have it.  At Lexington Diabetic Center and Family Care, we strive for early detection and treatment. The sooner your diabetes is diagnosed – and managed with appropriate treatment – the greater your chances of living a long, happy, and healthy life. Committed to patient education and participation in the implementation of treatment plans, we believe that partnerships between patients and providers produce the best possible outcomes!

The consequences of undiagnosed and/or untreated diabetes can be dire. Diabetes mellitus is a leading cause of blindness, kidney failure, and amputations, and it is universally recognized as a major risk factor for heart attack, stroke, and death. If you have diabetes, you are also more likely to have high blood pressure and high cholesterol levels, further increasing your risk for heart attack and stroke.

There is some good news, though – diabetes is treatable. Treatment lowers your risk for organ damage and disability. Timely treatment for pre-diabetes can even prevent you from developing diabetes Type 2 and its complications.
